Afternoon Update: The tide is hiding most of that little swell we currently have. A few of the bigger set waves break on the outside but are really crumbly and weak. They'll offer a short ride before dumping right on the beach. A few guys out trying to catch some decent rides. Just out front isn't quite working at the moment. Keep an eye on things when the tide switches later. Enjoy the rest of the day and have fun if you go. To all the new UNCW and CFCC students…welcome from a UNCW alumnus. However, please be respectful and wear your leash. You didn't live through the 2 block surf zone we use to have so please follow the rules of the beach so that everyone who accesses the beach is safe. Wearing a leash is a sacrifice we made to open up the beach for more surfing area. Wearing your leash protects other surfers and swimmers. It's also a $250 fine. Also, please leave any attitudes out of the water. If you were a pro we'd be watching you on the computer surfing against Slater. Being respectful isn't just for the college students. That goes for everyone. Thanks for understanding and enjoy a special place to live. Click on links directly below to learn about surfing regulations in WB and surfing etiquette.
