Some decent signs of surf out there now. I’d say it’s waist to stomach high consistently. Probably pushing chest high on some sets. Long lines on most that are very sectiony and seem to shut down quick. A few shoulders line up and are surfable. Hopefully this swell will help groom the sandbars some until the water goes back to normal. Water is a very dark, murky color and the steady onshore breeze sending a funky odor up the beach. Stay tuned for another update and enjoy the rest of the day. Not trying to scare anyone but please read below for your safety. Florence floodwaters alone will have tons of pathogens (bacteria, viruses, parasites), in addition to the 5.5 million gallon sewage spill from the Southside wastewater treatment plant, and coal ash pond and hog lagoons breached – all making their way into the Atlantic Ocean eventually. Please consider all this before you decide if/when to get back in the water. Be safe. *Sweetwater’s All For Fall Sale! Check out the news section for all the deals going on at the shop!*
